Albany Technical College Students Shine at SkillsUSA Georgia State Competition

Albany Technical College (ATC) is excited to announce a winning return from the SkillsUSA Georgia Post-Secondary State Competition, held in Atlanta, Georgia from February 22-24, 2024. Demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication, 37 of our distinguished students competed, with 5 Gold Medalists now advancing to the national stage. 

Under the guidance of our instructors and advisors, our students excelled across a wide range of vocational and technical disciplines, including Medical Terminology, Firefighter Training, Welding, and more. Our Gold winners will represent ATC at the National SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 24th to June 28th, 2024. Reflecting on the state competition, Kenneth Williams, Director of Athletics/Student Life at Albany Technical

College, expressed immense pride in ATC's achievers: “We are extremely proud of the 37 students we took to the SkillsUSA State Conference in Atlanta last week. Every one of them represented the College well.

Our students brought home 5 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals, and 2 Bronze Medals.”

• Rude Williams - Masonry

• Waylon Anderson - Firefighting

• Jordan Jackson - Practical Nursing

• Khalilah Lindsay - Early Childhood Education

• Keijonai Johnson - Dental Assisting

• Kalin Barber - Nurse Assisting

• Darius Jones - Medical Assisting

• Angelina Benton - Welding Sculpture

• Tonya Farmer – Cosmetology
