Caregivers in southwest Georgia are invited to participate in CareCON24, an event tailored specifically for those caring for individuals living with dementia. Scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 9 am to 2 pm, CareCON24 will take place at the Sowega Council on Aging’s Regional Resource Center located at 335 W. Society Avenue in Albany.
CareCON24 offers caregivers both informational sessions as well as practical tools and strategies that can be directly applied to their daily caregiving routines. Offered by the Sowega Council on Aging (SCOA) in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Outreach Center and the Alzheimer's Association, this event promises a day of insightful learning, featuring a keynote speaker, informative breakout sessions, and an interactive Q&A session with a panel of experts.
"We are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for our caregiving conference,” remarked Izzie Sadler, SCOA Executive Director. "CareCON24 represents an invaluable opportunity for caregivers to access essential resources, gain knowledge, and connect with others in similar situations.”
“We encourage all caregivers to take advantage of this opportunity to join fellow caregivers and experts in a day of education, empowerment, and community," added Nancy Goode, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Outreach Center.
Registration for CareCON24 is available online only at Sowegacoa.org. The registration fee is $25 per person, which includes breakfast and lunch. Due to venue capacity constraints, registration is limited to 150 participants. Interested individuals are encouraged to secure their spot early to guarantee attendance.
