What You Need to Know About the 33rd Annual Celebration of Lights

The City of Albany is getting into the Christmas Spirit for the 33rd Annual Celebration of Lights, which will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
Below is a list of important dates and information you need to know about this year’s event.

This Year’s Theme:
o A Gingerbread Christmas -
Times and Locations: o Times:
▪ Vendors will open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Christmas Village.
▪ The entertainment will begin at 4:45 p.m. and last until 5:45 p.m. ▪ The lighting ceremony for the Christmas tree will start at 5:45 p.m. ▪ The parade will start at 6 p.m.o Locations:

▪ The Christmas Village will be on N. Jackson Street from Pine Avenue to
Broad Avenue.

▪ The opening acts will perform on Pine Avenue between the Government Center at 222 Pine Avenue, and the Judicial Building at 225 Pine Avenue.

▪ The Christmas Parade will start on Pine Avenue at Wesco at 724 Pine Avenue and go down to the Dougherty County School System building at 200 Pine Avenue.

▪ Any vendors wishing to participate in the Christmas Village, you have until November 17, 2023, to submit your application. There are limited spots available, and space will be granted on a first come, first served basis. Vendors can submit their applications at www.albanyga.gov/christmasvendor.
o Parade Volunteers:
▪ Anyone wishing to volunteer for the parade has until November 17, 2023, to contact us. We need volunteers to help with organizing parade participants as they come in, setting up prior to the parade, wearing costumes and greeting kids during the parade, etc. All those interested in helping can contact us at (229) 483-7665. o Parade Participants:
▪ If you or your business would like to have a vehicle or float in the parade, you have until November 17, 2023, to submit your application. To apply, visit www.albanyga.gov/paradeparticipant.
