Albany City Commission Meeting Overview – 11/28/23

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, the City of Albany Commission met for its regular meeting. Below are some of the items that were voted on.

GBI Lease: Authorizing the execution of a real estate lease contract for the City of Albany to participate with Dougherty County in leasing JFT Public Properties, LP's Building at 1301 Evelyn Avenue for GBI office space.
o The Commission approved the resolution in a unanimous vote.

Speed Table Construction: Installing speed tables in the 1200 block of Baker Avenue and the 2300 block of 12th Avenue using TSPLOST funds.
o The Commission approved the resolution in a unanimous vote.

2023/2024 Emergency Solutions Grant: Approve receiving the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) for the Rapid Rehousing Program for FY 2023-2024.
o The Commission approved the resolution in a unanimous vote.

Well No. 19 and 24 Rehabilitation and Upgrades: Rehabbing and upgrading Wells 19 and 24 for a total cost of $652,650.
o The Commission approved the purchase in a unanimous vote.
• Disposition of DCED Owned Vacant Parcels: Declaring 114 Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) owned vacant parcels as surplus properties and authorizing they be donated to Innovative Housing Initiatives, Inc.
