Mandy Kavanaugh Named Assistant Director for Sowega Council on Aging

The Sowega Council on Aging (SCOA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mandy Kavanaugh to the position of Assistant Director. Kavanaugh brings more than 21 years of extensive experience in strategic marketing, project management and event planning to her new role.

Kavanaugh's professional journey includes a track record of success in various leadership positions, making her a valuable addition to SCOA. In her former role as Account Manager at MADlab Marketing for the last five years, she led the development and execution of customized marketing strategies, managed events of varying scales and supervised creative teams for marketing campaigns. Her experience also includes serving as Interim Director of Marketing for the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and leading the creation and launch of KNOWN Ministries as President and Executive Director. Past roles also include serving as Executive Director of Creative Arts and Events at Greenbriar Church, as Director of Pastoral Ministry at Central Baptist Church, and as Ministry Assistant to two Senior Associate Pastors at Sherwood Church. In these positions, she contributed to various churchwide and community events, utilized graphic design skills, managed volunteers and served as a Production Assistant on three full-length feature films.

In her new role as Assistant Director for SCOA, Kavanaugh will serve as the liaison between the organization and the community. She will be responsible for departmental program management, HR policy enforcement, meeting coordination, staff leadership, report management and more.
