Thursday, September 21st, 2023

Albany Technical College announces an open house hosted by the Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Engineering division on September 21, 2023, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Carlton Construction Academy. The event is themed "From Concept to Creation: A Journey into Construction and Engineering Technology."

Prospective students and community members are invited to explore and learn about the diverse range of programs, including Civil Engineering, Electronics Technology, Engineering Graphics, Air Conditioning Technology, Masonry NCCER, Carpentry NCCER, and Electrical NCCER.

While all are welcome, the college is making a concerted effort to reach out to females interested in pursuing careers within the Construction and Engineering sectors. Albany Technical College is particularly encouraging females interested in charting their careers within the Construction and Engineering fields. The college recognizes the immense potential and diverse perspectives they can bring to these traditionally male-dominated sectors.

Lynn Miller, Dean of Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Engineering, emphasized the evolving landscape of the construction and engineering sectors, stating, "The need for construction workers is not only a national issue but a regional one. With a significant portion of our workforce nearing retirement, we must usher in a new wave of young, diverse talent. Our programs are geared towards ensuring our graduates are ready for these dynamic industries, and we're thrilled to present this journey from concept to creation at our open house."
