The Mended Hearts, Inc. Announces New Location and Leadership Training

Friday, June 16th, 2023

On June 22 at 10:45 am The Mended Hearts, Inc. (MHI) will celebrate its new International Headquarters and Resource Center location with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Lee County Chamber of Commerce. MHI relocated their international headquarters to Leesburg in February of this year. The new office is located at 1579 US Highway 19, Leesburg, GA. Members of the media are invited to attend the ribbon cutting.

MHI’s inaugural advanced leadership training at The Mended Hearts, Inc. University (MHIU) will be in person at MHI’s new Leesburg facilities on June 25, 2023. MHI has selected several organization leaders from around the nation to attend this first training.

“Organizations are stronger and better able to serve others when their leaders are well-trained,” said Denise Duch Widzgowski, incoming MHI president. “Our goal is to train leaders who can then share their stories to create positive change, mentor others on their journey with heart disease, and bring new leaders into the organization to expand our reach and support services, including into underserved communities.”

The Mended Hearts, Inc. is the largest cardiovascular peer-to-peer support organization in the United States and has been providing hope and support to patients and families for more than 72 years. MHI’s programs—Mended Little Hearts®, Young Mended Hearts®, and Mended Hearts®—make MHI the only organization in the nation that supports patients with all forms of cardiovascular disease throughout the entire lifespan of the patient. MHI volunteers inspire, educate, and empower more than 380,000 patients and family members each year through a robust network of more than 104,000 members who provide services and outreach in hospitals, cardiology offices, clinics, cardiac rehab centers and local communities. MHI members don’t simply tell patients and families about the heart disease journey, they show them and walk with them on that journey.
