Dougherty County will sponsor a free summer jazz event, Jazzin’ the Park, a free outdoor jazz concert being held by Renaissance Connection, on Sun- day, June 25, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Robert Cross Park located at 3500 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. The event will take place rain or shine on the event center side of the park.

Jazzin’ the Park will feature jazz artists Harry King, Groove Centric, and the Southern Arts Mu- sic Ensemble (S.A.M.E.). Attendees should plan to bring their own chairs, blankets, and coolers with non-alcoholic beverages only. Food trucks will also be onsite.

“For those who have missed our Jazzin’ the Quarters events, which we have not had since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, this is an idyllic way to bring our Dougherty County, jazz-lov- ing, community together, again,” said Bummi Anderson, President of the Renaissance Connec- tion. “It is also a fitting way to honor my twin, Femi Anderson, who we lost to COVID in 2020. We co-founded Renaissance Connection, but she was the engine behind our Jazzin’ events. So, we are taking up her mantle and are going to bring a wonderful evening of entertainment to our deserving community.”
