A total of 124 Albany Technical College students will be celebrated as Dual Enrolled high school students who graduate with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, a diploma, or technical certificate of credit. Two distinct ceremonies will be held at the Kirkland Conference Center at Albany Technical College (ATC) on Friday, April 14, at 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., honoring the Dual Enrollment graduates. The 9:00 a.m. ceremony will feature a pathway signing and include 14 students who have earned an AAS degree. At 3:00 p.m., 110 students will be acknowledged and motivated to "Take It To The Next Level" for earning a diploma (03) or technical certificate of credit (107).

"We felt it was important to recognize their exceptional achievements and showcase their accomplishments," stated Barbara Brown, Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. "Albany Technical College takes great pride in the accomplishments of the Dual Enrolled students and eagerly anticipates news of their future successes."

The Georgia Dual Enrollment program has led to success for all Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) colleges, particularly for those who proceed to four-year universities to acquire higher levels of degrees. The objective is to spotlight these students each academic year and inspire other graduates who did not graduate with a degree to take their education to the next level and progress from a diploma to a degree or from a technical certificate of credit to a diploma.

"The Georgia Dual Enrollment program offers an unparalleled opportunity for high school students, and we urge students in the local area to discuss this state-supported initiative with their parents and make the most of it. Albany Technical College provides a way for high school students to quickly enter local careers," expressed Dr. Emmett Griswold, President of Albany Technical College.
