Thronateeska Hosts Community Night for Social Workers

In honor of Social Worker Appreciation Day and in conjunction with the DEA traveling exhibit, “Drugs: Costs & Consequences—Opening Eyes to the Damage Drugs Cause,” the Artesian Alliance is hosting a community night for social workers at Thronateeska Tuesday, March 21, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. The event starts in the Chautauqua Room with light bites and non-alcoholic beverages followed by activities featuring speakers and community conversations in the DEA exhibit on display in the Science Museum.

Daniel Fleurin, BS, CPS-AD, CARES, FPM, Chief Operations Officer for ASPIRE, will share a personal reflection. Social workers scheduled to be recognized include Dana Glass, ASPIRE Chief Executive Director; Patricia Hall, Pataula Drug Court Coordinator; and Vontresa Stephens, BSA and MPA, Open Arms Basic Center Director.

Recommended for ages 4th grade and up, this must-see exhibit features state-of-the-art technology, a learning environment, and resources for students and families. It is open at Thronateeska Science Center Wed.-Sat. 10 am – 4 pm. Free guided tours for guests are available on Saturdays at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm. School groups and organizations can book seven days a week and schedule a guided tour by contacting Angie Jones Gibson at [email protected] or 229-432-6955 Ext. 1009.
