Westover High Civics Club students served as Georgia legislators at the 2022 Georgia Youth Assembly Competition hosted by The Council for Civic Engagement.

Advised by teachers Willie Odom and Jonathan Hutchins, Civics club members traveled to Atlanta for a three-day learning opportunity designed to offer experience in the operation of Georgia's State Government.

Student legislators met in committees in the House and Senate chambers to debate legislation. In addition, students discussed current state issues with state administrators.

Alongside peer delegations from around the state of Georgia, students debated bills in committee and voted on bills taken to the floor of the House or Senate for full debate and vote.
