Sowega Council on Aging Celebrates Active Aging Week

Initiated in 2003 by the International Council on Active Aging, Active Aging Week is a weeklong campaign running October 3rd – 9th that celebrates the positivity of aging and active living. Sowega Council on Aging is celebrating with a full week of free activities for seniors! 

Activities during the Albany Active Aging Week celebration will occur at the SCOA Regional Recourse Center at 335 West Society Avenue in Albany. In addition, walking groups will meet daily at various locations around the city. 

WALKING GROUP | Meet at 9 am

Monday – Riverfront Park

Tuesday – Lake Park

Wednesday – Meredith Drive

Thursday – ASU West Campus

Friday – Tift Park

CHAIR FITNESS | Monday, October 3 and Thursday - 10 am 

LINE DANCE | Monday, October 3 - 11 am

PICKLE BALL | Tuesday, October 4 from 10 am-12 pm

Demonstration and instruction. Come to the SCOA Regional Resource Center and check it out!

TAI CHI | Wednesday, October 5 – 10 am (Advanced), 11 am (Beginner)
