A panel of graduates from the Dougherty County School System’s 4C Academy spoke of their successes entering the workforce with the school’s career pathway advisors Wednesday. 

The lunch was designed to share information on the various career pathways and to allow the students to share their experiences navigating their time at 4C. 

Panelist Mikel Hudson was a mechatronics student at 4C when he earned an internship at SAM Service two summers ago. Now, after having graduated, he’s working at Thrush Aircraft in warehouse logistics. 

Jerrell Reliford wanted to be a teacher and joined 4C’s Teaching as a Profession pathway. He’s currently interning for the district at International Studies Elementary Charter School. 

Taylor Paul completed the Healthcare pathway at 4C, attained her CNA certification and earned a job at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. She’s currently finishing up her associate degree. 

While the panelists discussed a range of topics during their time Wednesday, a common thread that each of the former students mentioned was the importance of the soft skills training, along with the technical aspects of their pathways, that they learned while at the school. 

In total there were about 90 advisory group members present for Wednesday's lunch, including 65 industry partners.
