Sowega Council on Aging (SCOA) today announced the 15^th Annual Comedy Night will take place on Thursday, August 25, in the Fellowship Hall of Sherwood Baptist Church at 2201 Whispering Pines Road in Albany. Comedian Ty Barnett of America’s Got Talent, Last Comic Standing, The Tonight Show, and Comedy Central Presents will take the stage to provide a night of laughter following a meal enjoyed by those planning to attend.

Proceeds for this fundraising event benefit the Home Delivered Meals program, a service of SCOA that delivers over 154,000 warm, nutritious meals annually to homebound seniors. “Food insecurity is something that can happen to anyone as they age,” says Izzie Sadler, Executive Director of Sowega Council on Aging. “The need is expanding, and those suffering may be your neighbors, your friends, even your family members – hunger is a crisis that often occurs quietly, behind closed doors.”

Comedy Night tickets are on sale at www.sowegacoa.org and are $50 in advance or $60 at the door (with limited availability). Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. and the comedy show to follow.
