Modern Gas Announces New Vice President of Retail Sales

Modern Gas Company is pleased to announce the organization's most recent staffing promotion and team addition. Prompting the change in staffing was the retirement of Chuck Knight from over 31 years of work in the home appliance industry. "Chuck has been on our team as Vice President of Retail Sales since April 2019 when Modern Gas acquired Knight's Appliance - Chuck's family business founded in the 1960s," said Mark Holloway, President of Modern Gas. "We wish him the very best in his next endeavor of full-time ministry in the Albany area."
McClane Newsome has been promoted from within the company to Vice President of Retail Sales from Retail Sales Manager. Newsome has been with Modern Gas for six years and currently serves as the Associate Vice President of the Home Builders Association. He is a graduate of Albany State University and holds a Bachelor's in Business Management.
"I look forward to growing this company and maintaining the level of customer service Modern Gas has already achieved," Newsome said. "I am proud to be a part of the Modern Gas team because we are a close-knit group who can rely on each other, and we are a company who values and depends on the relationships we build with our customers in the community."
Newsome and his wife, Chambliss, a Lee County School System teacher, have one child, Sutton Grace (1-year-old). They are members of Hope City United Church in Albany.
New team member, Jenny Goodman, will assume the role of Retail Sales Manager. She brings to Modern Gas over 30 years of retail experience, including three years of home appliance knowledge and twenty years of management experience.
Goodman and her husband are new to the Albany area and have one son living in Jacksonville, Florida. She is excited about new experiences and meeting new people in the community. "We are enjoying Albany thus far," said Goodman. "We look forward to learning more about the town."
Wendy Salter, Vice President of Modern Gas, is very optimistic about the progress ahead for the company. "Modern Gas has always been forward-thinking with our growth and business goals. We are confident that McClane and Jenny will enjoy much success in their jobs and help lead an already flourishing team into even more growth as we provide customers with excellent service and trusted products."
