Thronateeska Hosts Museum MAYhem Family Fun Day

A new event, Museum MAYhem, will feature a day full of family fun Saturday, May 21, from 11 am to 2 pm at Thronateeska Heritage Center. The event will highlight the many exhibits at Thronateeska, including a new hand-carved full-scale prehistoric whale skeleton replica. Additional activities will be held throughout the museum, as well as outside on the bricks. Planned activities include:

  • Mad Scientist Station: Hands-on experiments

  • Aviation Station: Make rockets and airplanes

  • Train-themed activities: In the depot area

  • Inside Exhibit Interpretation: Weather Station, Archaeology, History Museum

  • Whale Skeleton: Meet Cindy, the only full-scale skeletal Cynthiacetus sculpture in the world!

  • Celebrate National Historic Preservation Month: In partnership with the Albany-Dougherty County Historic Preservation Commission

  • Food Trucks

Thronateeska is a member of the Artesian Alliance and is open Thursday-Saturday from 10 am-4 pm. There is no charge for admission.
