Tricera-Tots
Friday, April 15
10 am
Join us for Tricera-Tots this Friday at 10 am as we learn all about spring weather. We'll read a book about rain, hail, sleet, and snow and visit the WALB weather station exhibit. We'll also make take-home coffee filter flowers. Our animal ambassador will be Hawkeye, an Eastern box turtle!
Tricera-Tots takes place the third Friday of every month at 10 am. Programs are geared to 3-4 year-olds, although all ages are welcome to join in! Program Cost: $3 per person for ages 4 & up/FREE for members. Ages 3 and under FREE.
Summer Camps
Full-day summer camp sessions from 9 am-3 pm are available for campers ages 7-12. Each day of camp includes a trip to the aquarium or science museum, animal encounters, science experiments, games, activities, and a snack. Summer campers also will receive a reusable water bottles and a cool camp T-shirt!
We offer a free early drop-off at 8:30 am and late pick-up option from 3-6 pm. Members receive a 10% discount on all camp sessions plus half-price after-camp care.
Feeding Frenzy
July 11-15
From land to sea, from shallow to deep, everybody has to eat! Campers will marvel at our water dwelling friend’s different diets and methods of eating. Join us this week to meet top feeders, fish eaters, algae eaters, snail eaters, and even smelly poop eaters.
Scales, Tails & Fingernails
July 25-29
Slimy fish scales, smooth reptile scales, soft bird scales, while many creatures have this feature they can look, feel, and function so differently. This week campers will discover how the same structure functions differently across the wild world of animals.
Teen STEAM
This is not your average summer program. Teen STEAM is developed to engage teens with hands-on experiences in the fields of Science, Technology, Art, and Math. Each week teens will be able to meet professionals in the zoo, aquarium, and museum fields, take part in activities that require higher levels of thinking, and, of course, go behind the scenes. This program is open to teens ages 13-17. Members receive a 10% discount on this program.
Biotechnology
June 6-10
Science and engineering at its finest bring us a whole world of innovative solutions to medical, energy, safety, and even animal conservation problems. This week we will explore how biotechnology is put to work.
DNA Dynasty
June 20-24
One blueprint to rule them all, and that’s a fact, Jack! Every organism from bacteria to fungus to ducks and people have the same basic make-up-DNA. Spend the week exploring, extracting, and analyzing the material responsible for all living things.
