Dougherty County Reaping the Benefits of Tourism by Implementing a New Tax

At today’s county commission meeting, commissioners granted approval to request to the Georgia General Assembly to enact local legislation authorizing the county to adopt a hotel/motel excise tax in a unanimous decision.
The tax will be in the amount of 8% in the unincorporated section of the county. Focusing on short term rentals.
