Automated School Zone Speeding Cameras Coming to Lee County

Leesburg police are cracking down on speeding drivers in school zones and have partnered with Red Speed to implement new school zone cameras.
The City of Leesburg hired an engineer and conducted a speed study in the 11 school zones in the county. As a result of the study out of those 11 school zones, there were 3000 motorists in one day that were exceeding the posted speed limit by 10 mph between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. when school was in session.
