#DoCoSchools Partner Mt. Zion Takes Students for a Walk on the Wild Side
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021
Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Albany, a Partner in Excellence with the Dougherty County School System, took a group of #DocoSchools students who lost loved ones due to Covid-19 to the Parks at Chehaw Saturday, June 5.
The trip, which was organized by the church, allowed students and their families to tour the zoo, play on the park’s giant playground and get lunch, along with a $100 gift card. Additionally, families will be able to receive free grief counseling.
A parent who attended the event, shared that she and her son had a great experience with her school’s principal.
“I just wanted to say thanks again for the invite that was given to attend the event that Mt. Zion held today,” the parent said. “It was great! We had so much fun and my son got a voucher for school supplies all because you were so nice to think of us.”
The church has been a longtime supporter of the Dougherty County School System.
