A Radium Springs Middle School teacher has come up with a creative way to help band students who have been sidelined due to a lack of certain equipment during the pandemic.

Gloria Clemons, a veteran technology teacher at Radium Middle Magnet School of the Arts, .  Mrs. Clemons took it upon herself to make brass mouthpieces (trumpet, trombone, baritone, and tuba) for students who participate in the school’s band program using a 3-D printer at the school. 

These items are costly and can place a financial burden upon the students who desire to be a part of the instrumental band program.  This burden has been exacerbated by the effects of the global pandemic of COVID-19.   Also, without these items, some students would not have the opportunity to be a part of the band program. 

Mrs. Clemons is thrilled to serve the students and families at Radium Springs Middle Magnet School of the Arts. Band Director Kenneth Parker gave a special thanks to her for her concern about their students' health, safety, and personal development.
