Adam Miller, a former Albany State University quarterbacks coach and Assistant Coach at Shiloh High School, has been selected by the Dougherty County Board of Education to serve as the new head football coach at Westover Comprehensive High School.

Miller, who has roots in Southwest Georgia, comes from a turnaround program at Shiloh where, in 2019, he helped coach them to their first playoff appearance in 16 years with a 7-3 record. Prior to his and head coach Tino Lerulli’s arrival, Shiloh was 2-8 in 2018 and had eight combined wins over the previous four seasons.

“We’re excited to have Adam Miller come to Westover and continue our tradition of both athletic and academic excellence,” Westover Principal William Chunn said. “He’s established himself as a leader both on the field and in the classroom and is clearly interested in building not only high-caliber athletes but also high-quality students. He has a wealth of high school coaching experience and also experience coaching on the collegiate level. He is a fine fit for our football program."

Prior to his time at Shiloh, he was the quarterbacks coach at ASU and served as an assistant at Florida International University.

Miller said he was thrilled at the opportunity to serve the students and families at Westover and was ready to make an impact on the Westover football program.

“Having the privilege of becoming part of the Dougherty County School System is a true honor for my family and me. We are truly excited to be joining such a great academic institution that is filled with great people like Westover Comprehensive High School,” Miller said. “I’m very humbled that Principal Chunn, Athletics Director Jones, and the rest of the search committee believed in my vision, and have chosen me to be the leader of the young men in the Patriot Football Program. I look forward to getting to work with such talented student-athletes, and their families.  My family and I can’t wait to make an impact in the Albany community! Go Patriots!!!”

His first head coaching position was at his alma mater, Coral Springs Charter School in Coral Springs, Fla. While at Coral Springs, Miller guided the Panthers to a 31-11 four-year record which included a perfect 11-0 mark and a Southeastern Football Conference (SFC) title in 2015. Following the season, Miller was named the SFC coach of the year.
