The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners and the Southwest Georgia Re- gional Commission will be holding a CALL-IN EVENT on Monday, February 15, 2021, from 8 a.m. to 12 Noon, for eligible residents to receive a copy of the Community Home Investment Program (CHIP) Grant Rehabilitation Assistance application form. Eligible homeowners can call 1-888-467-7814, but no calls will be accepted prior to the allotted hours on Monday, February 15, 2021.

Last year, Dougherty County once again was awarded the CHIP grant to make needed repairs to the homes of eligible low- and moderate-income homeowners living within the unincorporated areas of Dougherty County.Priority for the grant will be given to eligible applicants 62 years of age and older and repairs cannot be made to mobile or manufactured homes.

Rehabilitation assistance includes:

• Repairs and replacement of deteriorated roof systems

• Deteriorated structural components

• Inadequate electrical systems, including updating 20 amp service installation

• Faulty plumbing

• Substandard heating systems

• Energy conservation-weatherization activities

• Lead hazard removal, as needed
