The Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court has is- sued an Order declaring a Statewide Judicial Emergency, which has been extended several times, including extending the deadline for filing certain ad valorem tax appeals. The most recent Extension Orders reimposes the deadline of August 27, 2020, such that, for notices of assessment issued be- tween March 14, 2020 and July 13, 2020, the 45-day appeal period began running on July 14, 2020.

Appeals may be filed in the Albany/Dougherty County Tax Department located at 240 Pine Avenue, Suite 100-A, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appeals may also be filed online at www.qpublic.net/ga/dougherty. All appeals must be received by the deadline of August 27, 2020.
