Dougherty County Receives CESF Grant

Recently approved by the Dougherty County Board of Commissioners, Dougherty County has been awarded a grant in the amount of $58,008 from the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program (CESF), funded by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The CESF program is designed to provide counties with funding to make purchases that include, but are not limited to, overtime, equipment, including law enforcement and medical personal protective equipment, hiring, supplies, training, travel expenses, and addressing the medical needs of inmates in local jails and detention centers.

The grant provides direct allocation from the CESF, with no local match required. Re- lated to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the grant al- lows for a variety of purchases to be made.
