In the fourth calendar quarter of 2019, the Georgia Department of Insurance took administrative action against thirty-eight licensees for grounds set forth in the Georgia Insurance Code (O.C.G.A. § 33-1-1 et seq.). These actions include one revocation, three suspensions, one voluntary surrender, and the placement of thirty-three licensees on probationary status.

“When a consumer purchases an insurance policy, they are placing their trust – and in many cases their livelihood – in someone else,” said Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King. “For this reason, insurance agents and agencies in Georgia should be held to the highest ethical standards and deserve to be relieved of their authority if they violate this important trust. Our Department will continue to investigate instances of misconduct and take appropriate action when necessary.”

REVOCATIONS

Derrick Locke, Non-Resident Agent License No. 3027359

License revoked effective October 21, 2019 as a result of his failure to timely notify the Department of regulatory action taken by his home state and another state.

SUSPENSIONS

License suspended effective November 12, 2019 as a result of her failure to respond to the Department’s request for documentation regarding her criminal history.
