Albany Technical College Healthcare Technology to Hold Fall Capping & Pinning Thursday

Albany Technical College’s Healthcare Technology division will hold the fall 2019 Capping and Pinning ceremony on Thursday, November 21, 2019, beginning at 6:00 pm, in the Kirkland Conference Center.
Thirty-two students will be capped and pinned in the following programs: Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technology, Surgical Technology, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.
Keynote speaker will be Dr. Andrea Lovett Dozier, Assistant Professor of Nursing at Albany State University. Dr. Andrea Lovett Dozier was born in Early County, Georgia, on September 18, 1973, to Rev. Dr. Andrew Lovett, Sr. and Minister Elizabeth Ingram Lovett. Dr. Dozier attended schools in Dougherty county and graduated from Dougherty Comprehensive High School in 1992. She went on to receive her associate of science in nursing from Darton State College in 1995, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2004, a Master of Science in Nursing from Albany State University in 2012, and a Doctor of Education degree from Valdosta State University in 2018.
Dr. Dozier is presently employed at Albany State University, where she is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and Undergraduate Clinical Coordinator. She is also a graduate faculty member, graduate student mentor, faculty senate member, and a nursing student organization advisor. Dr. Dozier is a published researcher and is currently participating in the writing of an open educational resource textbook for the University System of Georgia. She is a member of the Georgia Association of Nursing Educators and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Dr. Dozier is a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, where she serves as a Sunday School teacher and periodic Wednesday night bible study teacher. She resides in Smithville, Georgia, with her three boys William, Christian, and Isaiah Dozier. In her spare time, Dr. Dozier enjoys playing the piano, singing, bike riding, and reading.
