Georgia-Pacific will host a town hall meeting to brief the Albany/Dougherty community on the new, state-of-the-art lumber production facility in Albany. Local Georgia-Pacific leaders will provide a corporate overview as well as update the public on construction and employment progress for the Albany project. The event will be on Thursday, June 13 at the Merry Acres Event Center located on Dawson Road.  Anyone interested in this new facility is encouraged to attend.

The $150 million advanced technology lumber facility can produce up to 320,000 square feet per year. Once operational the facility will employ more than 130 full time employees with an estimated $5 million in annual payroll.

Since 2012, Georgia-Pacific has invested approximately $1 billon in additional capital and acquisitions in Georgia and currently employs more than 7,000 employees at 16 facilities in Georgia.
