Phoebe is once again being recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for their commitment to providing quality stroke care and treatment to patients who suffer cardiac arrests. For the fourth year, Phoebe received the Get With The Guidelines® Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and for the second year, the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Award. Also this year Phoebe received the Get With The Guidelines - Resuscitation Silver Plus Award.
 
“Stroke is the 5th cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the United States. These awards are a testament to our dedication to ensuring our stoke patients receive the best care possible. Our commitment to stroke care goes beyond the immediate stroke team,” said Faryn Hackett, RN, Stroke Coordinator at Phoebe. “Employees throughout the hospital are educated on a continual basis on the most current stroke awareness guidelines, and we present stroke education to the community throughout our service area.”

Phoebe received the Get With The Guidelines Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus Gold Quality Award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period. These measures include evaluation of the proper use of medications and other stroke treatments aligned with the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing death and disability for stroke patients. Before discharge, patients also receive education on managing their health and get a follow-up visit scheduled, in addition to other care transition interventions.
 
Get With The Guidelines - Resuscitation Silver Plus Award recognizes Phoebe for implementing and meeting specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of adult patients who suffer cardiac arrests in the hospital. To qualify for the award, hospitals must comply with the quality measures for two or more consecutive years.
