Albany State University (ASU) students had their research published in the latest edition of the “Georgia Communication Association Proceedings Journal.” The journal is the official publication of the Georgia Communication Association, an organization that aims to foster interest in communication studies, arts and education.

ASU students submitted their research for publication in the Spring 2018 issue following their presentations at the Georgia Communication Association Conference in February 2018 at Columbus State University. 

Highlighted students are:

DeStandreana Norwood, sophomore, research: “Communication Dilemmas Faced by the Caregivers of Terminal Cancer Patients;”

“Danielle Prier, sophomore, research: “How to Improve Communication Skills in STEM Undergraduate Students;”

Kristin Martin, sophomore, research: “Communication and Technology in the Classroom.”

“It is a great honor that our students’ publications were selected and published in a journal where the vast majority of the authors are professors from colleges and universities in Georgia and adjoining states,” said Florence Lyons, director of the Velma Fudge Grant Honors Program.

Lyons assisted students in editing their research for publication.
