Andrew College to Present One Act Play

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Tuesday, April 9th, 2019

Laundry and Bourbon (a Comedy in One Act) by author James McLure will be presented on April 11-13 at 7:30 p.m. and April 14 at 2 p.m. in the Liddie Murphy Theatre in Old Main on the Andrew College campus in Cuthbert.

It’s a sweltering, summer day in 1973 as the play unfolds on the back porch of Elizabeth’s home in Maynard, Texas. Elizabeth and her best friend fold laundry, sip bourbon and remember the loves of their lives, and when they are joined by the self-righteous Amy Lee, the claws come out. Elizabeth’s unshakable love for her wild husband and Vietnam veteran, Roy, is at the center of the conflict.

The play is free and open to the public. It contains some mature language and subject matter which is not suitable for children under the age of 13.
