The Timber Management program at Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA recently hosted representatives from F&W Forestry, an international forest resource management and consulting firm dedicated to helping landowners gain the most value and enjoyment per acre from their forestland. Attending from F&W were Mark Hamilton, human resources manager and T. R. Clark, regional manager of F&W.
Amanda Knight, coordinator of program development and accreditation, and Dr. Umesh Chaudhari, assistant professor of timber management at Andrew College said that the meeting primarily focused on discussion of the strength of Timber Management course curriculum, labs at F&W managed forestland, research contribution to F&W, internships, and other possible opportunities for Andrew College to work with F&W.
Hamilton and Clark shared years of experience in the forest industry and were excited about having a Timber Management program located in Southwest Georgia.
Andrew College faculty members expressed appreciation of F&W’s willingness to hire Andrew College students as interns and entry-level foresters upon graduation. Chaudhari also gave high marks to F&W for the work that they do to help forest landowners of the Southeast U.S. and nationally.
Chaudhari said, “We are looking forward to building a great relationship with F&W in the future.”
