Global Partnership for Telehealth will host its Tenth Annual Conference at the Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club from March 20 to March 22, 2019. Previously, the telehealth networking agency has held its annual conferences at destinations like Lake Oconee, Atlanta, Savannah and, most recently, Jekyll Island.

“We’re moving to Lake Blackshear to honor our roots as an organization whose early mission was to serve rural areas,” said Keri Brantley, Conference Director at Global Partnership for Telehealth. Brantley cited the company’s growth into the metropolitan sector as the chief motivator for the change of locale. “GPT will always hold the rural US at heart, but experience has given us significant insight into the value that telehealth holds for metropolitan areas as well,” she said. “We feel that the decision to go to Lake Blackshear highlights how far we’ve come over the years.”

Since 2007, the South Georgia nonprofit has grown from Georgia’s statewide telehealth network into a national entity with close to 800 endpoints in 11 states across the country. The company has hosted annual telehealth-centered conferences since 2009.

“We want our Tenth Annual Conference to be our biggest one yet,” Brantley said.” “There’s something for everyone. We’ve got sessions highlighting telehealth projects concerning things like autism diagnosis and treatment and pre- and post-transplant care. We always have sessions covering changes in billing and telehealth laws and regulations, as well. We’re even having a special summit whose focus is school-based telehealth the morning of March 20, which will lead right into our main conference.”

Brantley said that the conference’s agenda will reflect both where the company has been and where it's going.

“I truly believe that the best is yet to come with both telehealth and GPT,” she said.

The School-Based Telehealth Summit will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, while the main conference will begin on Thursday, March 21 at 7 a.m. Those interested can register here.
