Albany Museum of Art Juried College Faculty Exhibition

The Albany Museum of Art is reminding faculty at Southwest Georgia universities and colleges that they are invited to participate in the upcoming Educators as Artists: Juried College Faculty Exhibition.
 
The all-medium exhibition, which will be juried by artist and AMA Guest Curator Didi Dunphy, opens August 2 in the AMA’s East Gallery. The exhibition will continue through October 13.
 
Faculty at Albany State University, Georgia Southwestern State University, Valdosta State University, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Andrew College and Thomas College are invited to enter. All media will be accepted and submissions may be viewed online once the exhibition opens.
 
Dunphy currently holds several positions in Athens, including her roles as program supervisor of the Lyndon House Arts Center and curator of the Gallery@Hotel Indigo. She also maintains a thriving personal artistic practice. Dunphy recently completed a three-year term as commissioner of the Athens Cultural Affairs Commission.
 
College faculty members are invited to submit up to two digital images. Here are guidelines and FAQs:
 
-  Digital images (up to two) must be submitted to [email protected] by 5 pm June 29;

-  The artist’s name, address, email, name of work(s) submitted and contact phone number must be included in the email;

-  Each image must be in JPG format with the title of the work in the JPG name;

-  Each entry must be for an original work of the artist;

-  There is no entry fee;

-  Each work exhibited is at the discretion of the AMA;

-  Entries submitted without complete information may be disqualified

-  Artists will be notified via email of acceptance by July 13;

-  Work selected for the show must be delivered to the AMA by July 24.

-  Inspired Albany, photography of the people, places and culture of Albany, continues in the West Gallery through Saturday, June 2, 2018;

-  Glenn Dasher: In Retrospection; Monuments to Human Imperfection continues in the Haley Gallery through Saturday, June 16, 2018;

-  Justin Hodges’ Time Time and a Half continues in the East Gallery through Saturday, July 14, 2018.
