Radium Elementary Replants Neighborhood Devastated by Storms

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Monday, May 7th, 2018

On May 2, Radium Springs Elementary School third graders planted 100 trees at the former Radium Springs golf course.  The trees were donated by the Albany Women’s Club to replace the many trees lost in last year’s storms.

The Radium Springs area sustained extensive damage during the second round of storms in January 2017. Dougherty County Public Works dug holes for the tree planting and school partner SB&T assisted in the planting.

Following the tree planting, third grade students enjoyed a picnic and visit to the springs at Radium Springs. Pictured are Radium principal, Bruce Bowles with third grade students, teachers, and CNS manager.
