Westover Culinary Team Claims State Title

On March 2, 2018 the Westover High School Culinary Arts Program earned 1st and 2nd place awards at the annual Georgia ProStart Business Management and Culinary Competitions in Atlanta, GA.

ProStart is the high school curriculum developed by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation to develop culinary and restaurant management skills. The one-day competition featured culinary and management teams from around Georgia, who competed to earn the right to represent Georgia at the National ProStart Invitational (NPSI) The 2nd place finish awarded each culinary team member $15,000 in scholarship money; and the 1st place finish awarded each member of the management team $34,000 in scholarship money for a grand total of $147,000 in renewable and on time scholarship offers. The management team also earned the right to represent Georgia at the NPSI to be held in Providence, Rhode Island on April 27 – 29.
