KADB Presents Checks to Top School Recycling Programs

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Tuesday, October 17th, 2017

Radium Springs Elementary School and Lamar Reese Elementary School each received $250 checks from Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful for being the two schools in the district who recycled the most classroom supplies in the 2016-2017 school year.

KADB Executive Director Judy Bowles presented the schools with checks at a recent board meeting. KADB and the Dougherty County School System have an ongoing partnership to promote and encourage classroom recycling at the district's elementary schools. Each year, Bowles and her team visit each school to do an assembly on the importance of recycling before providing each school with recycling containers and a special dumpster for recyclable materials.
