Goodwill Industries of the Southern River's Jane Prince Seckinger Passes Away
Staff Report From Columbus CEO
Monday, August 7th, 2017
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc. is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our President and CEO, Jane Prince Seckinger, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Jane had been at the helm of GoodwillSR since 1999, after serving on the Board of Directors for 10 years. Under her direction as President and CEO, Jane advanced the organization tremendously. GoodwillSR grew from $3.8 million in gross revenue and placing 19 people into employment to over $27 million in gross revenue, serving more than 37,000 people and making over 4,500 job connections.
But, beyond her talent as a dynamic leader and businesswoman, Jane was a wonderful person and a visionary advocate of the Goodwill mission. She cared about our team members, as well as the clients we serve every day. She will be deeply missed by the Goodwill family.
“Jane was an amazing leader and friend, and a true asset to the Chattahoochee Valley and in all of the counties we serve,” said Jacki Lowe, Chairman of the GoodwillSR’s Board of Directors. “She changed the whole composition of Goodwill. Her work shone in this community through the various boards and organizations she dedicated her time to, and she was respected not only locally, but internationally.”
Until GoodwillSR’s Board of Directors begin the process of searching for a permanent replacement, Vice President of Finance and IT, Terry Reis, will serve as interim President and CEO, following a continuity plan put in place by the organization many years ago.
Please join us in praying for Jane’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. Arrangements are pending, and will be released at a later date.
