House Education Subcommittee on School Redesign to Hold First Meeting in Albany August 29th

The House Education Subcommittee on School Redesign, chaired by State Representative Valencia Stovall (D-Forest Park), will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Albany State University in Albany.

“This meeting will aide in fostering important dialogue between lawmakers and those directly impacted,” said Rep. Stovall.

This subcommittee will host interactive community workshop sessions across the state for educators, parents, students and community members to provide input on designing a new student-centered state assessment, funding and accountability measures. Subcommittee members include Reps. Wes Cantrell (R-Woodstock), Vice Chair; Dave Belton (R-Buckhead); Randy Nix (R-LaGrange); and Miriam Paris (D-Macon).

The subcommittee will hold additional meetings in Savannah on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, and Atlanta on Tuesday, October 19, 2017.
