Amerigroup, one of Sherwood Acres Elementary School's Partners in Excellence, donated $3,000 Friday to support the school's Positive Behaviors, Interventions and Supports program. 

PBIS aims to improve student behavior by providing character education aimed at positive reinforcement of desired behaviors while discouraging bullying, rudeness and destructive personal behaviors. 

Cecily Florence presented the check on behalf of Amerigroup Community Care, an organization of more than 300,000 members who help patients navigate their way through government health coverage programs, at Friday's PBIS kickoff at Sherwood Acres.
