Comnet Technical Services, Inc. announced that Beth Brown, CTSI’s Director of Advisory Services and HIPAA Project Manager received the designation of Certified HIPAA Professional.  HIPAA refers to the United States legislation, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act of 1996,  that provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information.  The training and CHP Certification exam is offered through the HIPAA Academy/ecfirst, out of Waukee, Iowa.

CTSI is a locally owned IT Support Company, operating in 13 states, 3 countries, and supporting small, mid, and large companies across the fields of medical practices, manufacturing, financial services, corporate, and small businesses.  According to Tammy McCrary, CTSI owner and CEO, “Our goal is to serve as the HIPAA resource in the southwest Georgia and beyond.”

In this era of identity theft and cyber security threats, it is extremely important that medical providers and their business partners are up to date on HIPAA knowledge, policies and security processes.   CTSI is offering a half day seminar on Evolving Technologies and Cyber Security Threats through the SW Georgia Society for Human Resource Managers on June 7th.
