The charitable event, now in its 13th year, will begin with a reception and silent auction at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta on May 1, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Golf tee-time will begin at 10 am on May 2, with registration starting at 8:30 am. A continental breakfast will be available during registration, and lunch will be provided on the course. As is customary, this Pro-Am tournament will match up a professional golfer from the Georgia PGA with each foursome. The day will conclude with an awards program and dinner at the Chateau Élan Resort Pavilion.
“We are proud to be the corporate sponsor of this incredible charity event, which has raised more than $2.5 million since 2005 and helped raise awareness about childhood brain tumors. Our hope is that more children will be able to benefit from the many types of support the PBTF offers to families dealing with this devastating diagnosis,” said D. Gaines Lanier, CEO of JSL.
Proceeds from the J. Smith Lanier & Co., Charity Golf Classic will help hundreds of children and their families, both locally and nationally, by enabling the PBTF to provide; emergency financial assistance through The Butterfly Fund, emotional and social support, free educational materials to newly diagnosed families, college scholarships and research funding.
“We are tremendously grateful to J. Smith Lanier & Co. and the many sponsors who participate year after year in this exciting event. Without them, we would not have the capacity to truly impact the families we serve in such meaningful ways,” said Tammy Bates, Managing Director of PBTF.
