Leslie Hudson Joins Leadership Albany as Assistant Director

In support of expanding programming, Leslie Hudson joins Leadership Albany as the Assistant Director.   Leadership Albany’s mission is to develop effective community leaders working for the common good.  Hudson’s community leadership includes volunteer roles with these organizations:

·        Chair, Thronateeska Heritage Center

·        Albany Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

·        KADB-Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful Board of Directors

·        United Way of Southwest Georgia Board of Directors
 
Carroll Weaver, current Leadership Albany board chair says “Leslie’s professionalism and heart for non-profit work will be a great asset to our organization and to this community.  Her leadership experience and organizational skills will augment Leadership Albany in accomplishing our mission and vision.”
 
Hudson recently retired as the Brewery Systems Manager with MillerCoors after 28 years.   She was a member of the Leadership Albany Class of 1995 and served as chair of the Leadership Albany Board of Directors in 1998/1999.  Hudson has continued to be an active alumni member serving on several board committees over the last 20 years.  Leadership Albany Executive Director, Mary Ligon, says “Leslie and I have worked together professionally and as volunteers with several nonprofit organizations.  I am excited to team with her again as we continue to grow and offer additional opportunities for persons in our area to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge of our community while working to make Albany the good life city for everyone.”

When asked about her new role, Hudson responded with "Leadership Albany has a rich history of developing leaders for our city and state.  I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, Mary Ligon, the Executive Director, and our community to further leverage and grow our programs."
