Deerfield-Windsor Wins Literary Region Championship

The Deerfield-Windsor School Literary Team, coached by Lindsey Stewart, won the GISA Region Tournament.  Stewart is assisted by Laura Goode, Justin Swearinger, and Polly Stadnik.

The team was led by first place finishes by Joe Tondera, argumentative essay; Hannah Takash, rhetorical analysis essay; Tyler Jennings and Mary Rachel Bonner, duo interpretation; Larkin Carden, dramatic interpretation; Evan Campbell, international extemporaneous speech; and Samaria Bridges, Kenzie Copeland, and Hannah Sims, girls trio.

Finishing in second place were Emma Reed, spelling; Rob Pilcher, boys solo; and Yvonne Ramos, piano solo.

Jasmin Lopez finished third in personal essay and Zoe Hopson third in domestic extemporaneous speech.  Hannah Takash was fourth in girls solo and Hannah Sims fifth in humorous interpretation.

The team is two-time defending State champions and will compete in the State Meet in March.
