Albany State University Celebrates 114 Years

Albany State University and the community will celebrate 114 years of academic excellence during the 2017 Founder’s Day festivities.
The celebration includes Founders Day Convocation, a graveside memorial for the University’s founder, and an evening block party. Admission is free for all events and the public is invited to attend.
ASU alumnus, Marvin Laster, will serve as the convocation keynote speaker. Laster is a 2000 and 2012 honor graduate of Albany State University and Mercer University’s Stetson School of Economics and Business, respectively. He currently serves as the Chief Professional Officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany, Ga. In his current role, Marvin is responsible for providing leadership, overseeing strategic planning, and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany, Ga.
