Dougherty County School Board Approves New Superintendent
Wednesday, February 15th, 2017
The Dougherty County Board of Education voted 6-0 with one abstention to forego a formal search process and offer the job of school superintendent to Associate Superintendent and Chief Financial Officer Kenneth Dyer.
The vote came at the end of the board's regularly scheduled meeting Monday night. Earlier in the afternoon, the board meet with a representative of the Georgia School Board's Association to discuss options for a potential search.
A subcommittee of board members will now meet with Dyer to negotiate a contract and discuss details of his appointment.
Once the details are hammered out, Dyer will replace Dr. David Mosely who is retiring at the end of the school year.
