Joseph W. Dent of Watson Spence LLP in Albany has been appointed by the Supreme Court of Georgia to serve on the Commission on Continuing Lawyer Competency for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2017.

The commission is authorized to supervise and administer rules and regulations of the continuing legal education requirements for members of the State Bar of Georgia.

Dent is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1991. His law practice focuses in the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, collections/bankruptcy, zoning and land use and real estate and business litigation. He is a past chair of the Investigative Panel of the State Bar of Georgia Disciplinary Board and past president of the State Bar’s Young Lawyers Division.
