#MadeInAlbanyGA Campaign Continues with Sunnyland Farms

Staff Report From Albany CEO

The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission continued the 2016-2017 “#MadeInAlbanyGA” campaign with pecan goods producer, Sunnyland Farms.

The campaign, which features an existing industry each month for the next year, is an expansion on the award-winning video of the same title, produced by the ADEDC in 2014. The 2016-2017 campaign includes videos, social media and print components.

“Sunnyland Farms has been a part of the Albany industrial community since 1948,” said ADEDC President Justin Strickland. “Since then, the company has grown to be one of the most wellrespected in its market, having expanded its sales into to all 50 states. Sunnyland’s continued growth and success as an existing industry shows that Albany-Dougherty County is not only an ideal place to start a business, but also a place where that business can grow and prosper for decades to come.”

Sunnyland Farms credits much of its success to strong relationships with customers, as well as with its employees, both of which Chief Operating Officer Alex Willson says are prime focuses of the company.

“Our employees are the hardest working, most loyal a company could want, and our average employee tenure is north of 20 years,” Willson said. “On the customer side, we take 10-20 minutes on the phone with customers, if needed. We’re not focused on getting to the next call.  We want customers to be fully satisfied and will do whatever it takes to get there.”

Sunnyland Farms is a third generation family-owned business specializing in producing “only the best” pecans and pecan goods from right here in Albany-Dougherty County, also known as the “pecan capital” of the United States.
