Darton State College Criminal Justice Club and University System of Georgia eCampus eMajor online degree program will host “Feed the Force, Grilling Franks to show our Thanks”, a free event for all law enforcement personnel, on Monday, November 21st in the Albany Police Department parking deck. All local law enforcement officers are invited to enjoy lunch from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Jason Armstrong, instructor of Criminal Justice and the Criminal Justice Club Advisor, and his students are excited to provide this opportunity to support local law enforcement agencies.

“We’re grilling franks to show our thanks for all our law enforcement personnel do to serve and protect our community,” said Dr. Sarah Kuck, who partnered with Armstrong in organizing the event. Kuck is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Darton State College and Executive Director of Academics for USG eCampus. “Our local law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day for us; this is just a small way of showing them how much they are appreciated,” said Dr. Kuck.

“This event, not only is a thank-you to our law enforcement personnel, it also provides an opportunity to interact with individuals who are in my field of study,” said Zachary Kennedy, vice president of the Criminal Justice Club.

Information will also be provided to law enforcement officers regarding online degrees through eMajors, supported by the University System of Georgia. Obtaining a degree may help individuals advance into leadership positions within their field.

“A bachelor’s degree can help individuals move up within the force, but shift work and long hours make coming to campus difficult,” said Kuck. “That’s why Darton State has partnered with USG eCampus to offer these programs entirely online - so working adults can continue their education with the convenience and flexibility they need.”
