Darton State College Theatre Program Presents 'Our Town'

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Thursday, November 3rd, 2016

The Theatre program at Darton State College will perform the classic American play, ‘Our Town’, by Thornton Wilder.

One of the best known and most often performed American plays, Our Town follows the small town of Grover’s Corners through “Daily Life”, “Love and Marriage”, and “Death and Eternity”.  Originally set in New England at the turn of the 20th century, the Darton production relocates the period to the 1960’s, in rural southwest Georgia, creating a connection to our own town.

Our Town remains an enduring treasure.  The play, in the words of playwright Edward Albee, is “probably the finest play ever written by an American”.

Admission to the play is $5.00 for the general public, free with a Darton or ASU I.D.

It will be on Thursday, November 3, 2016 thru Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 7:30p.m. and Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2:30p.m.
